The Michigan Outdoor Writers Association (MOWA) held its annual conference May 4 – 7 at Garland Lodge & Golf Resort in Lewiston, MI. MOWA members and guests were treated to a wide variety of activities, including fishing, hiking, and mushroom hunting, more.

The highlight of the conference was the keynote speech by Michigan Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Director (and outgoing MOWA President) Randy Claramunt on the state of Michigan’s fisheries.

Other highlights included the presentation of the MOWA – Toyota Let’s Go Places Award, the MOWA Clean Waterways Award, and the ever-popular Excellence in Craft Awards ceremony.

MOWA would like to thank our host, Garland Lodge & Golf Resort for their tremendous service which helped make this one of our most successful conferences ever!
